What is IV Therapy?
Intravenous (IV) fluid drips deliver a combination of saline solution, vitamins, electrolytes and medications through a small catheter and tubing directly into the bloodstream. The ingredients in individual IV formulas are specifically blended to address a variety of health needs.
The classic IV is one that was developed by Dr. Myers to treat a wide range of conditions. He reported that this IV mix would help patients in pain, including those suffering from fibromyalgia. He also said it would help asthma, migraines, loss of appetite, fatigue, depression, acute muscle spasms, and immune suppression (Ali). This cocktail comes loaded with potent vitamins and minerals.
Ingredients: magnesium, calcium, b-complex, b12, vitamin C
Help your body boost up it’s immune system with these IV nutrients. This IV is packed with all the things to help your body fight off whatever may be ailing it. Glutathione helps up-regulate the body’s natural defenses. L-lysine is a natural anti-viral. The vitamin C is useful as a cofactor in many of the immune functions. Zinc also has been shown to have antiviral properties. The combination in this bag make it a useful immunity up-regulator.
Ingredients: Vitamin C, B complex, glutathione, zinc, L-lysine, magnesium, calcium, taurine, B12
HIGH DOSE VITAMIN C
A G6PD and complete metabolic panel are required before any vitamin C above 50,000mg (50gms).
Vitamin C is known to be a needed micronutrient in humans. It supports the skin barrier function to keep out different pathogens. It is also used as an oxidant scavenger on the skin. This keeps the environment outside from creating too much oxidative stress. It enhances T-cell and B-cell differentiation and proliferation. Vitamin C supplementation has been found to prevent and treat not only respiratory illnesses but also systemic illnesses (Carr). Vitamin C works in many metabolic pathways including activation of B vitamins, turning cholesterol into bile acids and creating serotonin in the body from a conversion of tryptophan. Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that is used to clean the body from free radical damage. The immune system needs vitamin C to function. It helps lower allergic reactions while also activating the immune defense systems to fight off infections. Vitamin C plays a large role in the body and has been studied in the use of cancer, diabetes, neurodegenerative disease, heavy metal toxicity and atherosclerosis (Chambial).
Vitamin C is known to also fight cancer cells. Through a process called the Fenton reaction, vitamin C combines with iron outside of cells to increase hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). Cancer cells are not as robust as healthy cells and this hydrogen peroxide damages their DNA. Once the cells are damaged, they are destroyed (Vissers).
A recommendation of 10 IVs is the minimal number often recommended for most patients.
This formulation is quite impressive. It is used in a variety of conditions and comes with a many nutrients. This formulation works well as an IV to jump-start many patients. It comes with silver in the IV which is great for infections or chronic immune problems. The formulation has glutathione in the product as well. This regenerative health formula helps activate and nourish cells. It helps to promote rapid cellular regeneration and recovery.
NAD+ is the precursor to all energy production in the body. It is what creates the cofactor for cellular energy. As we age, our levels of NAD+ become lower. Many age-associated disorders and diseases can be traced back to low levels of NAD+. Metabolic disorders, neurodegenerative diseases, and mental disorders all have been linked to these low levels. NAD+ biosynthesis has been targeted as an area that can treat or prevent these disease processes. The age-related disorders that can occur have been seen in studies to benefit from taking NAD+ intermediates such as nicotinamide mononucleotide and nicotinamide riboside. Both of these products can be taken orally but only IV NAD+ can be absorbed directly (Johnson). It has been well documented that NAD+ has a role in anti-aging and longevity. The NAD+ salvage pathway that creates NAD+ involves tryptophan (an amino acid) as a starting point. Other pathways that use tryptophan are serotonin and melatonin. These two molecules help with sleep, the gut, and mood. When more NAD+ production is needed such as in inflammation, tryptophan is diverted towards making more NAD+ and less serotonin and melatonin (Yaku). This molecule also plays a large role in skeletal muscle development. It helps with regeneration, aging, and disease. Higher levels of NAD+ have been found to be great at augmenting muscle health (Goody).
Typically a NAD+ IV will take around 3-4 hours. Patient’s generally state they have a euphoric feeling after the therapy with increased endurance, energy, and elevated mood.
What is Plaquex? Phosphatidylcholine (PC) is a molecule that makes up all biological membranes around cells, as micelles and surfactants. The cell wall is a delicate, moving barrier that allows for nutrient exchange as well as has embedded proteins for signaling with other cells. These cells are the building blocks of what forms everything from brain, liver, heart, muscle and every other tissue type in the body. PC is a phospholipid that is highly useful in this cell wall and helps the fluidity of this barrier. As we age, PC decreases and cholesterol and spingomyelin rations increase. These other types of phospholipids do not have ability to give as much fluidity to the cell membrane creating a more difficult nutrient exchange. Many enzyme functions depend on the presence of unsaturated Fatty Acids in the membrane, particularly enzymes involved in detoxification and lipid metabolism. PC is needed due to aging causing detrimental changes in the membrane phospholipid composition of cells. As we age, PC decreases as cholesterol increases with age. The phospholipid exchange (PLX) exchanges PC for spingomyelin and cholesterol (Kanno). The increase in PC in the cell wall can help with cardiac function, brain function, and liver function among other things. Plaquex has been used to aid in removing the plaque from arteries as seen in atherosclerosis.
Unfortunately, PC derived from foods leads to an increase of a proatherosclerotic metabolite, trimethylamine-N-oxide (TMAO). This TMAO is made from gut microbiota. The only way to bypass the gut is through IV therapy which then prevents this increase in the TMAO, which is associated with high levels of cardiovascular events.
This bag helps you recover from a night out drinking and over indulging. It comes packed with electrolytes, vitamins, minerals, anti-inflammatory medication and anti-nausea medication. This helps rehydrate and maintain energy levels.
Add on a glutathione to help the liver detox or dexamethasone to help drop that inflammation down even further.
Ingredients: Magnesium, B complex, B-12, ketoralac, ondansetron, vitamin C, MIC.
