Stress Reduction

NeuroEmotional Technique

The day to day stress in our lives brought on by money, relationships, work, and so on, are potential triggers to the health concerns that we may be experiencing. Traumas, unresolved emotions, and protective mechanisms can create what we call “emotional complexes” within the body’s physiology that can result as any number of undesirable symptoms. Not only is this possible, but the affects on your health could be quite severe, and - if left unchecked - stress can cause significant distress to your overall health.

When we experience emotions there are physical repercussions as well. One example of this is when someone experiences anger - their blood pressure changes, their temperature changes, their heart rate increases and their pupils will dilate in response.

Because of this knowledge we consider it vital to be able to help our patients resolve the emotional components of their health all the way into the subconscious mind. We do this by use of the NeuroEmotional Technique (NET), developed by Dr. Scott Walker, to treat the psychological and neurological impact that emotions and stresses have on the body. By using NET we can help determine what your underlying stressors are, how they are affecting your body and then facilitate your body’s healing from them.

NET is a psychosomatic/somatopsychic stress reduction intervention aimed at emotional and physical health improvement. It is unbiased, and is not based on any specific religious or spiritual affiliation. It is not counseling and it is not accompanied by advice on life situations and choices the way a counselor or therapist would provide. While NET can greatly compliment counseling - and we do believe that appropriate counsel is sometimes needed - we have been extremely satisfied with the help that this technique provides our patients regardless of whether they have sought out professional care of that kind.

"NET is a unique approach to getting at the "things" in life that keep us from reaching our potential.  Examples include fear, the sense of feeling "stuck" or the inability of moving on.  Dr. Cara has the uncanny ability to quickly assess an issue and diffuse it through NET technique.  As a user of traditional therapy to help with these issues in the past, NET is a much more efficient and quick approach to get rid of those nagging feelings so you can move on."
